Caitlin's teaching is informed and enriched by her in-depth studies of human movement. So she's able to meet the needs of a wide variety of practitioners and keep things fresh and interesting. - Jennie Cohen

I had so much fun doing these elemental moves—it reminded me of how easily and naturally I used to move as a kid

"I wanted to thank you for the fantastic series! It was so easy to follow along with your clear instructions and perfectly paced sessions. I had so much fun doing these elemental moves—it reminded me of how easily and naturally I used to move as a kid, and how much fun it is to explore the body in space. Thank you also for the reminder to observe how something feels rather than judge it." - Renate Gokl

Her classes have helped me feel more capable as I go through my day.

"Caitlin's classes give the yoga philosophy a modern practice. Like the asana, she guides you through a sequence designed to connect you to the sensations in your body. She challenges you to work clearly and with stability, helping you to strengthen your joints. Her classes have helped me feel more capable as I go through my day. I love that she offers a variety of household objects as props. It makes movement accessible to everyone. It also changes my relationship to movement. Using the familiar objects makes me realize how I can incorporate more movement in my everyday life." - Rebecca Schwarz

Her classes are a perfect blend of physical exertion and inward reflection.

"Tonie is an incredible teacher; her classes - which I've been taking for a while now - are a perfect blend of physical exertion and inward reflection. Her genuine care for her students and her gratitude for sharing her practice come through in every class. I look forward to practicing with her every week!" - Jess Roberts

Your instructions are insightful, challenging, supportive, and encouraging. They push me to decide how I want to show up.

"Tonie, the class is great, as expected. Your instructions are insightful, challenging, supportive, and encouraging. They push me to decide how I want to show up. Along with the physical challenge, I am finding the headstand practice more emotionally challenging than expected. I appreciate you guiding me through the process." - Stephen Tosh

Going to her class has been a driving force in my personal growth, on and off the mat.

"I'm not one to leave feedback often, but when I do it's for Tonie. Going to her class has been a driving force in my personal growth, on and off the mat. I feel well supported and safe to embark on this journey with her because she helps me reclaim my power through effort, ease, and grace (of course, with many levels of balance in between ^__^)." - Rella Cruz

She is very in tune with physiology and healing, and I strongly recommend her classes to anybody, whether new to yoga or experienced.

"Sangeeta is one of the best yoga teachers I've ever practiced with. I've known her for many years and always seek out her classes. She is very in tune with physiology and healing, and I strongly recommend her classes to anybody, whether new to yoga or experienced. Her workshops are also excellent and enlightening. Thank you Sangeeta for always being such a thoughtful teacher!" - Tom LaGatta

I emerge from her class every time feeling so much more open, relaxed, and ready for anything.

"I have followed Sangeeta for the last decade from studio to studio-- no teacher compares for me. Her focus on connecting every movement to the breath instantly grounds you and she leads you through a challenging practice with grace and warmth. I emerge from her class every time feeling so much more open, relaxed, and ready for anything." - Kim Sweet

Sangeeta’s presence as a teacher is simple, clear, and calm.

"Sangeeta's presence as a teacher is simple, clear, and calm. She gives space for people to have their unique experience, and yet also invites us to be gentle with ourselves within that experience. Her knowledge and experience shine through her cues, balancing quiet pause with instruction that invites soft and open inquiry to the many layers of the self." - Anya Porter Yazawa

Rebekah’s invitation to movement exploration is deeply thoughtful. A real gift!

"Rebekah is so wonderful to study with. She is attuned and insightful, engaging and engaged. Rebekah's invitation to movement exploration is deeply thoughtful. A real gift!" - Grace Berryhill

I was able to hold the somatic experience of the body on a cellular level for the entire practice.

"As expected from Rebekah, the workshop was fascinating, challenging and deeply restorative. I was able to hold the somatic experience of the body on a cellular level for the entire practice. This concept breathed new life into the "root down to lift up" paradigm and does extend into thinking about the hierarchical systems of our bodies, communities and beyond-- which by examining opens them up for change. It was insightful & enjoyable placing body awareness into its smallest parts for once. Furthermore, with this particular headstand instruction, my neck felt safer and freer than it normally does." - Laura Nesci

This was such a necessary experience.

"This was such a necessary experience. I’ve had the privilege of taking class with Rebekah before, and was so excited to have this opportunity to rest with her guidance, and it was wonderful. I really appreciate Rebekah’s knowledge that she shares with her students and I find her thoughts and teaching to be very helpful to my yoga practice and to my relationship with self and body." - Helen Pennock

Jocelyn’s teaching is excellent- instructive, compassionate, and always correcting our poses.

"I have been taking several classes a week with Jocelyn for the last couple of years. I’ve progressed - more flexible and stronger but as Jocelyn would remind me stamp down on the big toe mounds. Yoga online is an experience but must admit overall it is all good. Jocelyn’s teaching is excellent- instructive, compassionate, and always correcting our poses." - Janice Wong

We roll, we stretch, we strengthen. We have become a tight-knit community.

"I have been going to Jocelyn's classes 3x a week for 2 years. I love that she named it Slow + Steady. She nailed it. We roll, we stretch, we strengthen. We have become a tight-knit community. This class is great for anyone new or folks looking to move with intention." - Jennifer Marshall

I find her most attentive to the wellbeing of participants in all of her sessions.

"I have taken yoga classes with Jocelyn for the past four years, and find her most attentive to the wellbeing of participants in all of her sessions. I hope that I can continue to be part of her practice for a very long time." - Simone Grey

Holy obliques!

"I loved the Bug variation.” “Holy obliques.” - Peartreepaul

The flow was smooth but Jan’s precise cuing at just the right times made me feel it everywhere.

"Jan is another amazing addition to the Connective crew. I loved this class. The flow was smooth but Jan’s precise cuing at just the right times made me feel it everywhere. Strength and mobility are tough combo for me and trying to avoid the wobbles certainly gave me the shakes. An accessible class I will continue to take and I look forward to Jan’s future offerings. And, of course, another Connective fur friend making an appearance is always an added joy." - Ciara Farrell

Gail’s classes make me feel like I’m getting a massage while at the same time gaining functional strength and range of motion.

"Gail’s classes make me feel like I’m getting a massage while at the same time gaining functional strength and range of motion. She always encourages us to self-determine the intensity and pretty much always offers answers in her detailed instructions. At the same moment I realize I have that very question in mind! Feels so good to practice with you, Gail, thank you!" - Elizabeth Barnett

And she brings her own unique style to the movement portions of class that I thoroughly enjoy.

"Avita holds a very supportive and open space to talk about difficult subjects and she introduces very salient critiques of popular narratives that have really challenged me to think bigger and deeper. It’s always so valuable to hear the perspectives and thoughts of other people. And she brings her own unique style to the movement portions of class that I thoroughly enjoy." - Tess Dooley

The discussion, inquiry, and movement she offers challenge me in beautiful and important ways

"Avita is a really special educator and guide. The discussion, inquiry, and movement she offers challenge me in beautiful and important ways—and always leave me feeling more connected to others and the world around me. Deeply grateful for her work, offerings, and this community!" - Walker Johnson

Each class opens with a thought provoking discussion that is current to what we are experiencing in the world.

"Avita’s classes are so wonderful. Each class opens with a thought provoking discussion that is current to what we are experiencing in the world. I feel more committed to anti-racism work now after practicing with her and other Connective members. The guided movement is also fantastic. It is definitely not your typical asana practice and I never want to go back to typical!" - Megan Lame

I’ve never had such joy holding poses for three minutes before!

"Wow, Yin Yoga - Wall Edition with Jamel is so awesome! His presence, his voice, his guidance are so steadying and grounding. I've never had such joy holding poses for three minutes before! Jamel gives time for set up (thank you 🙂 and let's you know where to place your props to be ready for the next pose, which means less scrambling (for me, a yoga newbie). I also love that he gives choices and really emphasizes these. Each pose feels grounded and free simultaneously. A wonderful practice and teacher. So happy!" - Patricia Billings

You almost don’t want the sessions to end.

"Classes with Jamel feel like a treat with benefits. I'm attracted to Yin Yoga but with past teachers, it's felt more like something to get through. Jamel's style is inviting, playful, informative, and an hour passes quickly. You almost don't want the sessions to end."  - Kerry Twig

There’s been a wealth of information for body, mind and spirit. I will always want to continue to take Jamel’s classes.

"Amazingly. Jamel has given us such a beautiful variety of yin experiences, always with clear guidelines. I love the way he checks in with all of us coming in and out of postures. There's been a wealth of information for body, mind and spirit. I will always want to continue to take Jamel's classes." - Alystyre Julian

Repost from Owner @sangeetavallabhan Did you know Repost from Owner @sangeetavallabhan

Did you know that a strong yoga practice can look any way you need it to? 🤔

Did this handstand (old pic) make me strong? I'm sure I felt strong in the moment. Truth be told, me holding a handstand in the middle of the room was rare.

When people think of yoga, they usually think of asana, the physical practice. I love asana! I've always gotten so much out of my physical practice, whether it's asana or more traditional exercise. Recently, I've been delving more into yoga philosophy, which can feel like a workout for your mind 🧠

When we think of strength, we usually first think of physical strength. And how the health of the body can impact the mind. But what about the other way around? Working on your mind, your self, your mental and emotional health can shift EVERYTHING else.

🌱Yoga can do this.
🌱The other 7 limbs can do this.
🌱You can do this.

Look beyond the surface of how yoga is portrayed in the media. And perhaps at your studio. Ask questions, ask to learn more or look for teachers that offer more than the status quo.

If you really want to feel strong, yoga has much more to offer you than a handstand.

Feeling like an empowered, sovereign being can offer you much more flexibility and inner strength in the face of all the ways injustice rears its head in our lives and communities. You'll have strength, but you'll also have direction. Ahimsa, guiding the way with non-harming and harm disruption.

As the end of the summer nears the weather is ☀️ and our bodies could use some time to 🧊 down. Come cool down and slooow your roooll.

During this 60 minute class, we will use massage balls to roll out the muscles of our feet and hips. Both of these areas of the body are often in everyday life, hold tension, and can feel a bit sticky. Once we’ve rolled out and cooled off we will move through pilates strengthening movements for the feet, ankles, and hips with abdominal work sprinkled throughout.

🎾Grab a ball, any ball; pinky, tennis, or tune up and COME SLOOOW your ROOLL. All levels are welcome.

Forward bending asana has an effect of calming the mind and the body. Energetically it has a cooling quality as well. Forward bending poses can sometimes be intimidating, but there are a myriad of ways of practicing that don't require being a gymnast to give that effect.

Join Jocelyn in a forward bending asana practice, where we’ll begin with a warm up and modified surya namaskar. We’ll move and hold poses - we’ll definitely use props.

Recommended props: 2 blocks, a strap, scarf or belt, 1-2 blankets, bolster or a pillow
